Analysis of Friend

Before I remember
Marveling at the sensitivity of loneliness
Longing for commodity
Waiting to be seen

Recall I heard
that a friendship is created
By unconditional love and trust
Both nourishing mind and soul

I once felt
I had to walk confused and alone
As a reflection of nothing
Into the forgotten silence

Am I simply
A sunset instead of a sunrise?
Do I battle demons?
Yes! Anywhere but my dreams

Nevermore awake
Evermore trying
For I have found a mutual partner
For I had found a friend

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I thought about my friend Brian who saved me from myself. The first letter of the first line read down spells his name as a tribute to him.
