Analysis of Painting across the room.
It is a Monet.
The guy with the thing
About water lilies.
Pond in his backyard.
French impressionism.
Suggestions of more detail
Than is actually painted.
Imagine a stroll out
On your property
Settle into the peace of flowers, bridges
Shimmering waters.
Finches and sparrows
Singing gloriously.
Maybe one mallard
Lands to give silent company.
Paddling.
Painted turtle sunning.
Lucky brat, that Monet.
Once saw some of his on exhibit
In Toronto at A. G. O.
Not to mention seashores
Railway stations, windmills, market days…
