Analysis of Gallery of A Broken Heart

Lydia Rodriguez 2000 (Walnut Cove)

If you peered into my heart, do you know what you would see?
There you would find who I am and who I need to be.
My past tears and current pains, what I was made to be and why I need to change.
You will see the little girls who I needed to raise,
The smiles that numbed me, even if it only lasted a few days.
My abuser, my origin and even a few friends.
Those friendships I thought would last and later had to watch end.
You'll learn the reason why I do what I have to do
You will finally see how all those things led me to you.
