Analysis of A Somber Solace
The crickets chirp outside the window sill;
The night wind gently rustles through the leaves.
The fireflies dance; the moonlight paints the hills.
with manic mind, I walk amidst cool, night breeze.
Oh Mania, so euphoric and free,
Do you seek to protect or to destroy?
Such creative gifts you have given me;
Depression seeks to steal from me in ploy.
This plateau becomes my somber solace;
I walk this night preparing to face the beast,
That lurks in the stygian depths of madness;
I shiver. The winds, now torrent, blow East.
This sinister prison that is my mind,
Embraces me, in its clutches confined.
