Analysis of Whiskey Blues

It's 3 am headlights on the highway
everything is a blurred. Got those
whiskey blues.

Static on the radio playing tricks on
my mind. I see your image standing
on the side of this dusty road.

The smell of your perfume lingers on
the passenger seat. The taste of
bourbon in my breath.
Your lime green scrunchy you wore
in the center console that sunday
night we went to the movie matinee.
 Eating ice cream getting
 caught in the rain.

Got those whiskey blues no one
can take away.
Whiskey blues in my soul.

I remember the time we walked
through Rogers park it was midnight.
The way the moonlight hit your eyes.
Made it even more magical.
Drinking red wine till dawn. Your
lipstick stain on the wine glass.
Sitting neck to the fireplace.

Darling don't you know there is
nothing in this world I wouldn't do.
You got me in a loop.
Thinking about these whiskey blues.

I got nothing to lose except driving
my way back into your arms. That is
where I find these whiskey blues.
All I need are whiskey blues.
To make me realize how much I miss you.

You got me in a spellbound by these whiskey blues.
You got me hooked by these whiskey
blues no matter what.
All I need is to drive a quarter mile
back into your heart. To settle these
whiskey blues my sweet brown eyed
girl.
Don't you know.

About this poem

I wrote this is as a country song driving down the highway. Wanting to express love comes in many ways and has no boundaries.
