Analysis of To my Lost friends

To my lost friends
I'm sorry I failed you
That I couldn't make the grade
That our lovely little friendships had somehow begun to fade
I'm sorry I was lazy, ignorant or exclusive
Too much to keep you in my life
Its really quite abusive
And it pinches at my conscience
That we had so much to say
But now its fallen to the silence
And oh it's too far away
It could have been much different
I see it everywhere
And my voice seems blocked without you
But I've been too closed to care
So I'm sorry to my lost friends
Some even family
That I've been introduced to
But my life had a different say
I blame myself for I alone
Could have done it better
Said more lovely, grateful things
For you to feel more settled
But I know I'm bound to get it wrong
Every time I try
Perhaps my heart will heal stronger
But for now its just goodbye
