Analysis of Obedience Call
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Hear as God admonishes you,
Hear Him and He will testify;
Listen as to all that is true,
That should no one ever deny.
You shall never have a strange god,
Never bow down and worship it;
Because another is a fraud,
For only the Lord is legit.
For He brought you out of the land,
Open your mouth and He will fill;
On solid rock, with Him, you stand,
As He will cure of what you ill.
You did not listen to His voice,
And you would not submit to Him;
Because in making the wrong choice,
You feel gloomy and have been grim.
So He gave you up to your lust,
For following your own guidance;
Putting your own conscience to trust,
As you continue defiance.
Why will you not listen to God,
By starting to walk in His ways;
Worship Him to honor and laud,
While living out all your days.
He will subdue your enemies,
Turning His hand against your foe;
Strengthening of your abilities,
Completely defeat them also.
Those who hate the Lord will cringe,
As their fate will last forever;
And their life completely unhinge,
Any relationship will sever.
He who feeds you with the best wheat,
Honey from rocks to satisfy;
Feasting upon all kinds of meat,
To our Lord we sanctify.
