Analysis of Ripped In Pieces

Larry Knauer, Jr. 1975 (Chester, PA)

How does one become undone?
It wasn't on purpose, or done for fun.
One day relaxing and enjoying the sun.
The next day at work unloading a gun.

It doesn't happen in a day or a night.
It takes a lot of time for one to lose sight.
Color doesn't matter,  tan, black or white.
No one is safe you must fold or fight.

Do we all have good and evil embedded in our hearts.
Does anyone know how they end or where they start.
When in time does one start, to have their existence ripped apart.
Can this fate be unwritten by one whose educated and smart.

I myself feel like the world is ripping me.
Apart into pieces so it can set me free.
I remove myself, stand aside to see.
If I become a bird in the sky or a fish in the sea.
