Analysis of Triumph of God
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Sing unto the Lord a new song,
Praise to the assembly of saints;
Godly congregations belong,
In praising without any restraints.
Be glad, rejoice in your Maker,
Let children rejoice in their King;
Because He is your Creator,
Who has given you everything.
Let them praise His name with dancing,
Melody with timbrel and harp;
Praising Him through songs that you sing,
Words coming deep within the heart.
For the Lord has taken pleasure,
The assembly of His people;
Adorns them as humbled treasure,
As they gather in His temple.
He beautifies with salvation,
The meek that come there to exalt;
For they are a new creation,
And have been erased any fault.
Let the saints exult in glory,
Let them sing aloud in their beds;
Sing about the joyous story,
Filling the Pagans in their heads.
Let the praise of God in their throats,
Be like a two-edge sword in their hand;
Giving sacrifice of the goats,
For pleasing God of His command.
Execute vengeance on heathen,
Punishment upon the nations;
The false idols that the Pagan,
And have immoral relations.
Bind up their kings with solid chain,
Their nobles with fettered iron;
Flogging them to experience pain,
Into the fire as to burn.
Execute on judgment written,
This honor is for the godly saints;
For the behavior forbidden,
And persecuting without restraints.
