Analysis of Until Heaven

A drop of heaven fell on my lips,
It's touch left me with an insatiable thirst.
Nothing matched to that heavenly bliss,
Even the joys of earth seemed cursed.

The steps uncertain that I trod here in fear,
Yet found my Father enunciate it clear.
Commanding me to 'fear not' and hold His hand,
My chagrin in my affliction was never His plan. 

Yet those painful moments that no one could cure,
Those hellacious nights of sleeplessness endured.
Set me to ponder if He is crying with me.
But my feeble faith or unbelief could not see.

Oh the dark moment when I doubled over in pain,
Altered me into a being who was far from sane. 
Intermingled with questions, heaven received my prayer,
For I knew my help would come and only from there.

Alas, that moment when I drifted away,
Fearless of the consequences come what may.
Suddenly heaven seemed spurious and it's glory unreal.
The triviality of the world were all that could appeal.

When done with wandering, I was back to you. 
Broken was my mirage, nothing else seemed true.
It was then I ceded, and was ready to surrender,
You became my all in all, You became my center.

Realizing the pain and the normalcy lost,
Was not worth doubting the Father's love. 
But your word was the remedy to the unbelief of mine,
All else was vanquished in the presence of Thine.

The paradise once lost, soon will be regained. 
Christ the Conquerer will come to reign.
All that hurts now shall soon be forgotten.
In the bosom of God’s only begotten.

But how far yet my home, how long yet I wait?
For the the golden streets and pearly gates.
To embrace my Sustainer, who provided it all.
Catered to every plea, whenever I called. 

Lord, 'til that day let my faith not dwindle,
let not the ground shake beneath.
Though many storms may roll below,
Help me to find my peace within.
