Analysis of Healthy Self-Hate
A fear of me boiled over a first date;
shooting stars overshadowed
the autumn in her evening green eyes.
The hate wired in me
is sufficient for us both.
Loosen the tension in your chest.
I’ve got the guilt concealed.
The stigma of what I know not
The cartel of broken dreams
cloaks agony in my heart of hysteria.
When I beheld your gaze, it was clear
I’m a game you play
between commercials breaks.
Again, I’m me.
The one nobody sees.
