Analysis of Away from hense!
Chennouf Mohammed 1960 (Meknes)
Away from hense!
A poem - Chennouf Mohammed
A heart alert to all offence
Too wise to make a hackle rise
A horse too wild to wear a cart
For years afraid to hop the fence
With undertows beneath the eyes
With nerves too tense for joys to start
With blazing wounds that grow intense
You either roll too far to size
Or soar aloft to fall apart
Without remorse or shivering sense
Nowhere to go. And though with sighs,
my most intent: I must depart
Away from all, away from hence
On wheels of peace and innocence
Away to where no suns can rise
To lands too dim to need a guise.
