Analysis of Always On My Mind

Perle 1998 (Beirut)

and you’re always on my mind.
You beat drums in an aquarium
to speak to me and to tell me
where exactly you come from.

and you’re always on my mind.
The fish don’t know you’re the current
but I feel you when you’re still.
well, don’t you think we are meant?

and you’re always on my mind.
I don't know what you look like
and I don't know what you do,
but you do to me what I cant help.

and you’re always on my mind.
By land, you’re days away,
by plane, we’re hours apart.
I have a lot and so I cant afford
to take off and sell my heart.

But, you’re always on my mind.
So I’ll see you one day at that place
where I can tell you thises and thats.
Meet me there, sweet common ground,
because on Earth I can’t.
