Analysis of A letter to my lover!

My dear!
I miss you.
Like I want you to miss me,
Do you not miss me?
Do you not think of me often? And more than often?
Do you not write sweet poems about me?
About my hair and my lips!
And aren't you still in love with me like you loved me this spring and many springs before?
And how do I tell you that this heart is wild without you!
This business of exhaling and inhaling looks so much heavier in your absence.
Oh sweetheart,
Do you not pray to unite with me so that we get to laugh once more?
Eating is getting harder each day and sleep has become a rare commodity!
Do you not tell the birds over there about me? about us?
Did you not ask the winds to convey me any message of love I have asked them so many times and they answer not!
Oh Darling,
Are there no pigeons who can deliver your whereabouts to me?
Do you not realise that this wife of yours waits for you?longs for you?
Do you take a moment every few moments to long for me too?
Oh love,
How are you?
Do you eat and sleep well?
Or just like me?
Do you also hate this parting?
Do you not want me in your arms again and hug me tight till I doze off to sleep?
How is everything there, I want to ask but
I fear the unseen and unknown?
A few days back our neighbour's husband came back wearing a shroud and so I was afraid!
Do you not know that I love you?
I have asked God for your holidays and this time not a day nor a week but a whole month I pray!
A whole month I pray!
A whole month I pray!
A month's holiday, will you not take me to the island and grill a fresh fish for me?
Won't you take a bite from the same fish I eat?
Will you not drink from the place where my lips will leave a mark on the jar?
Will you not sleep in my lap with your eyes closed, if I promise to keep you warm and safe?No violence and no bombings
I promise!
Oh Soldier,
Do you not want a good holiday with this lover of yours who awaits to put ointment on your wounds?
Will you not come for thirty dawns and twilights?
Will you not come back for this girl who wants to cry over your scraped knees and bullet wounded shoulders?
Will you not come back for who wants to smile with wet eyes on realising how brave her man is?
Will you not come back to this complaining wife of yours?
For some hot soup and tender lamb!
I promise to not burn it this time.
O my dear,
Aren't holidays about coming home?
Am I not your home?
Will your wife not take care of you with love?
Or is it that you think that your Aisha is not brave enough to send you back to serve the land and to protect our children?
Do you doubt me?
And, how do I tell you this childish wife of yours has grown-up and you will only know this if you come to see this face and kiss this forehead ?
I wait for you to come to me in darkness and tell me that I have brown eyes which are lovely!
O husband, keep this letter safe with you
So that you don't forget to come for we have a month's holiday ahead to spend and to love!
