Analysis of A Pathetic Sight

Do I deserve it?
I am scared of the answer.
I shiver like a child,
Weak, pathetic,
Desperate.
Desperate to be worthy.
Yet I am scared that he will answer yes.
Out of distant politeness and,
Even more,
Close intimacy.
