Analysis of 12:25 am
yesterday someone reminded me I had missed your birthday
and I thought about the box I keep tucked away in the closet
a box full of little trinkets I knew you’d love, a heart shaped pendant, a journal full of every thought I had about you with a letter on the inside
I had intentions of mailing it until we called it quits
but now it sits collecting dust, the present remaining untouched
I wonder if you missed me on your birthday like I have been missing you
