Analysis of A challenge for tomorrow

I walked through the gate
Only to be surrounded by a wave of blue
Amongst a generation raised by their cellphones

I could see judgement on faces
Stares onto me
Whispers through crowds
My “friends”,
I could hear it

Was my shirt not tucked in ?
Was my zipper down ?
Was I looking  fat ?
Am I ugly.

I could predict cursors moving
Canva links openings
Insta notifications incoming
A viral meme generating
But also, A soul dying

Was I on display ?
Am I,  In a room with a glass wall ?

I lost my spirit to learn
I simply lost my joy
I simply lost

So, I turned back
Sat In my car
And left

Back under the covers of my blanket
Back under the covers from society

Now, it is a challenge for tomorrow
