Analysis of New Living
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
I testify in the Lord,
That you must no longer walk;
Like the Gentiles ignored,
The futile way how they talk.
Their minds with their vanity,
Darkened in understanding;
The brink of insanity,
By what they are demanding.
Alienated from God,
For hardening of the heart;
Ignorance has made them flawed,
As they spiritually depart.
As they have become callous,
Given themselves up to greed;
Drank from the impure chalice,
Chasing the sensual seed.
That is not how you were taught,
To follow the way of Christ;
You have gone out and sought,
Deceitful things that enticed.
Your old self you must discard,
From your old manner of life;
Let His Spirit be your guard,
From any toils and strife.
Renew the soul of your mind,
Get your new self and put on;
Be righteously realigned,
For a new day and new dawn.
