Analysis of Oh my People

The night has fallen, and not everyone have all gone to sleep,
Behind every closed door, fearful eyes and desperate hearts pray,
They hope and wish for safety.

The thunderous shots of a thousand riffles called out with a likeness of raindrops,
Wailing hearts and trembling bodies, they are shut away in the darkness,
Eyes once brightened have dimmed,
Only God knows of their laments.

Bodies lay mutilated, covering the once dusty roads with red,
Fear abides deeply in hearts that were once brave,
For a man injured cannot stand, a woman whose chest aches cannot fly and a child whose eyes has been dimmed cannot laugh.

The people who have been broken and betrayed cannot seek revenge- they can see a clear pond yet they do not quench their thirst,
They only know of sorrow ingrained deeply in their bellies,
They are the people whose cries have not been heard so they remain silent.
