Analysis of I stand
Sharon Uhlman 1984 (Tennessee)
I weaken, I fall, I stand back up
I weaken, I fall, I stand back up
With every push, ever knock, I stand back up
You taught me to stand and fight in this world
Even as a child in this world, you taught me
Never look down always look up,
To stand back up
So as we fight this battle side by side
You may sway, you may fall
You may collapse under it all
But by your side I will stay
For every sway, for every push for every collapse
I will be here, to catch you, to stand you back up
To fight this fight
Until momma shows you the light
We will stand and we will fight

About this poem
My dad has lung cancer and he has been my rock my whole life. And for 13 yrs I have taken care of him. And now we face the biggest battle either of us has ever faced. But like you were my rock for me, I will be your rock for you.
