Analysis of Sunflower Goodness

Zanur 2004 (Lagos)

Beautiful
too little of a word to describe you
perfect
too small minded of word to describe you

you are an aurora
glowing painting the skies green
amidst the mountains

you are a sunflower
blooming in the sunrise touch
Zooming in a bit closer
your flaws oh your flaws
they are there too
and I see them
and I notice them
and I accept them

For the evening breeze
never breezes my cheeks but I remember you in my thoughts

for the starry night never looks dazzling but I remember you in my heart

for each moment doesn't come alive
until I feel you sitting close me
day in day out
week in week out
I let our fireflies out
while I sit on my veranda
staring at them in awe

so without a reason
you would probably still find me
staring at the clouds
and smiling ear to ear

and without reason
you might also catch me
drop a tear to my palms
as I realize they are still empty of your touch and warmth
