Analysis of Remember Summer
Remember summer?
When we and our friends would fly that ugly kite.
When you would forget to zip your fly.
And when you did it on purpose.
To frighten poor Primrose.
We were such jerks
During summer, when the sun was high.
We would laugh when we fell off the bicycle.
There was no pressure
No rush
We had all the time in the world.
We did not feel like failures when we scraped our knees
When we lost 'Monkeys on the Trees'
Our actions had no major consequences
Except maybe a slap on the wrist
Autumn crept up on us so fast
It is harsh
I presume your fly stays closed now
Wouldn't want you behind bars
Every action we take has consequences
And ripples and ripples
Domino effects
They give me headaches
We are no longer given a cursory look
And told to stand still
Now we get accusing looks
And we are called childish
Remember summer?
I fear because I smell winter.
We never made provision for her
Coats and jackets and a warm warm house
We thought the sun would shine forever
Like summer
Our time flies
Let's drop the lies
I do not like the cold
But very soon I would have to face the blizzard
In nothing but my summer clothes
