Analysis of "La douleur exquise"

Here I find myself again,

lost in reverie

Of a twisted entanglement of you and I

A never ending delusion of a love affair

I am strangled by longing

for a familiar love

only found in a dream

I try to force my thoughts

back to semblance,

Nevertheless my mind continues on

like an addict hooked on intrigue

and it is almost as though my heart is bound

only to exist for the tangled illusion of you and I
