Analysis of King of Glory
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The earth belongs to the Lord,
And of the fullness thereof;
The world and those who dwell toward,
With compassion of His love.
He founded upon the sea,
Established upon rivers;
Wind tossing waves to be free,
As cold winds causing shivers.
Who shall ascend up the hill,
To stand in His holy place;
And who shall His glory fill,
Be anointed with His grace.
Clean hands and a pure heart,
Lifting not with vanity;
Not deceitful to impart,
Speaking no profanity.
Receives blessings from the Lord,
From God of His salvation,
And being in one accord,
To be a new creation.
Such is the generation,
Of those who will seek His face;
For building a foundation,
Gaining access to His place.
Raise your head to see the gates,
They rise as doors open wide;
The King of glory awaits,
Able to enter inside.
Who is the King of glory,
Who is the strong and mighty;
But you have heard His story,
The immortal Deity.
The King of glory is here,
Through the everlasting doors;
Give Him honor and revere,
Shun the darkness that deplores.
