Analysis of Thanks Giving Prayer
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
We always need to thank God,
The Father of Our Lord;
Giving Him honor and laud,
Showing that He is adored.
Since we heard your faith in Christ,
The love you have for the saints;
Knowing what was sacrificed,
And never having complaints.
Because of hope in Heaven,
Of this the truth you have heard;
The faith that has been given,
The Gospel is the true Word.
In which case has come to you,
Increases in bearing fruit;
Know the grace of God is true,
That your faith is taking root.
Be a faithful minister,
Learning on behalf of Christ;
Avoid what is sinister,
Evil never be enticed.
Know your love in the Spirit,
Who has also been declared;
No matter of your merit,
Preaching and let it be shared.
I am not ceasing to pray,
To fill you with the knowledge;
On how to trust and obey,
Understand to acknowledge.
For the knowledge of His will,
In all spiritual wisdom;
Understanding to instill,
Your access to His Kingdom.
