Analysis of Life in the Spirit
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
There is now no condemnation,
For those who are in Jesus Christ;
In the Spirit adoration,
Flesh not walking to be enticed.
Because the Law of the Spirit,
Through Christ Jesus has set you free;
Enables you to inherit,
That sin and death have no decree.
For God has done to what the Law,
Weakened by the flesh could not do;
Sending His Son cancels each flaw,
For all those who will remain true.
That the righteous requirement,
Of the Law be fulfilled in us;
The rationale why He was sent,
Allowed by the Spirit as thus.
To live according to the mind,
On the fleshy things within life;
Meaning that you will be maligned,
Resulting in causing you strife.
To set the mind on flesh is death,
On the Spirit is life and peace;
That is taking away your breath,
Life as you know it will then cease.
The carnal mind is against God,
Hostile to the Law of Heaven;
Finding that you worship a fraud,
Nothing from Him will be given.
You please not God with carnal minds,
But if His Spirit dwells within,
Enters in the heart as it binds,
Guarding against corrupted sin.
If Christ Jesus is within you,
Even though the body is dead;
The Spirit of life will pursue,
That your righteousness will be fed.
