Analysis of The Addict

He has one thought and is numb from all pain;
he thinks of things that are so vain...

He, himself, his drugs and pipe;
    when and where?...Everynight.

His family and friends are now far from view;
once a very proud father of two.

At first it was fun at parties with kids'
    creeping away from his babies cribs.

Excitement and thrills, like when he was young;
now an old man of forty-one.

His suit of black and tie of red;
    can no longer cover up the unexplainable things that
    he said.

His wrinkles show through and drown out his smile;
for just one rock he'd sell his own child.

His wife is gone, children too;
    his job and home bid him ahdue.

He is left with nobody, no family or friends;
althrough he still has all the terrible sins.

Now he lays in the grass in his perfect black suit;
    with a gun in his hand ready to shoot.

Trigger is pulled, no thoughts in head;
don't need no drugs or family and friends.

His eyes won't open, his heart won't beat;
    his mouth won't move so he can speak.

He is gone from here where he is safe;
from pain and suffering now feeling great.

He'll never be there to tuck you in;
    or to say "goodnight" at the nights end.

Love him now even more;
and show respect to the poor.

You never know how life will end;
    but stay away from people like him.
