Analysis of Wishing well
Bruce Hawthorne 1981 (CA)
The shape inside could tell
From all the household prayers
The wishes were in the well
From hope the new dust fell
In layers upon layers
The shape inside could tell
Before sunrise he dwelled
The seasons hardly cared
The wishes were in the well
Although she wasn't well
A whispered form was spared
The shape inside could tell
The starlight cast a spell
The dreamers all had shared
The wishes in the well
The tears they knew too well
Thier emptinesses glared
The shape inside could tell
The wishes were in the well
