Analysis of Distance
Those memories of you
Like the sunshine
Mudpies in the sand and making saltine delicacies
I remember the junkyard and fears and us making up games to “save us”
Mama, You, Me
One two three shadows, and the fourth a quieted alert to keep the unknowns in view
Now these are all that are left of us
What we were
Not Three, Not Two, Just one left to count
No one replaces the space it just helps us grow closer to the other side
The distance between the living grows with every loss
I see that now
We will meet again.
