Analysis of The Outlines Of Stars

The Outlines Of Stars
The constellations have many faces, we see many, only know the one
The look is flat, printed on flat paper, from that, flat pictures appear
Looking up at the distant stars, same as staring at them, on flat paper
Getting fancy, brighter ones are closer, dimmer ones smaller, maybe not
Stopping for stop lights, that are three traffic lights away, unrealistic

That’s the way we look at things, manufacturing clues, true or not
Easily connecting dots, no discussions about the misleadings of brightness
We expect single parents to raise their families as if they didn’t have a job
And we expect of them to work the job, as if they didn’t have families to raise
Looking at the outline, never granting extra energy, how to grow the full dream

Four star constellations, they draw odd shaped pyramids, that’s the math
Five stars and beyond, strange figures emerge from the imagined flatness
Three dimensional objects, odd crystalline shapes, dare to be imagined
Different stars, different distances, brightness has nothing to do with it
Paradox, dimmer stars, can definitely be closer than the brightest stars

Noses so far out, past the edges of faces, more than likely, part of the tail
Pictured straight line limbs, in reality, broken and bent way out of shape
Cross sectional view, only a slice of life’s imagination, sometimes helpful
Looking at the outlines of stars and people, it’s all about the empty dreams
Seeing everything, does the real shape mean anything, if nothing but a dream
