Analysis of Gone Goldfish

My goldfish, Ariel, we must now part ways
There are many times I wish I didn’t set you ablaze
My consciousness is wracked with guilt
Teardrops start to fall when my eyes travel to your body which has started to wilt
I wish my actions were reconsidered
I still remember how your fins glittered
I hope you remember me when you arrive in heaven
You were always my favorite out of the other eleven
