Analysis of Speaking to God
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Continue steadfastly in prayer,
Watchful in it with thanksgiving;
With others continue to share,
For any wrongs be forgiving.
Withal praying also for us,
That God may open a new door;
Declaring mysteries as thus,
For any ailments that can cure.
That my manifest is made clear,
In which is how I ought to speak;
With a sound mind that I revere,
The answers from God that I seek.
Walk in wisdom toward outsiders,
Making the best use of the time;
That they become good providers,
Not resort to a life of crime.
Let your speech always be gracious,
Seasoned with salt that you may know;
Never for sounding audacious,
Rather with grace and humbled glow.
