About this poem
Frantz Omar Fanon (1925-1961), a French West Indian physician, psychiatrist, and political philosopher from the French colony of Martinique (today, a Department of France), and a radical Marxist scholar and supporter of Pan-Africanism, is known for having popularized the term “cognitive dissonance” and introducing it more widely into the public domain, a social psychological phenomenon that was conceptualized by Leon Festinger (1919-1989), one of the most well-cited psychologists in modern history.
