Analysis of Love

romance novels
i thought that by reading romance novels
it would heal my constant yearning
the wounds left untouched
i thought it would fix what i yet have not gained
what i need to establish a heart
that has not yet found it’s whole
i didn’t know it would be possible
to miss something you never had
to miss something you had not grasped
just simply lingering upon what seems to be every mind but my own
i thought reading romance novels
would give me that band aid
to patch that unbroken scar
to reconcile my incapable heart
to reach the point of conclusion
that patience was the only answer
instead it made it worse
my heart no longer yearns
it throbs
it’s aches to the very depth to what could only be my soul
kicking and screaming my insides
needing a deeper escape from this internal pain
that has been held in my chest for a long time
