Analysis of Lost
Sasha Harris 1991 (Wv)
We watched you battle your demons
We saw you conquer them with pride
What we didn’t see coming though
Was you relapsing the night you died.
I don’t know if you felt alone
I don’t know if it was comfort or for the high
Forgive us for being mad at you
Understand us while we cry.
Loss to addiction is an awful one
Along with grief, the pain is hard to bare
Did you not know how many people loved you?
Or did you know and just not care?
Maybe your struggle was too heavy to carry
Maybe you just made a bad decision in a minute
But the moment you decided to use
Was the moment your life ended.
Now we have to bury you.
Our little town has seen this loss before
You can’t play Russian roulette with the drugs
You can’t keep knocking on heavens door.
