Analysis of David

Each person’s like a raindrop,
Each lifetime much too short,
Some leave a lasting memory,
While others, land, forgot.
There are those that come down hard and fast,
Along with thunders sound,
Some land on windows quietly,
And trickle to the ground.
Some come down with purpose,
To quench those dry and warm,
Others come destructively,
Arriving with a storm.
Some are cold and frozen,
Their touch an icy sting,
Others, soft and warm,
A gentle breeze they bring.
Some like to linger on flowers and leaves,
Like jewels they sparkle bright,
Others, racing, blindly slip,
Down murky drains from sight.
You lived your life in all these ways,
Our time I won’t forget,
I couldn’t guide you in your fall,
And this I so regret,
Your raindrop landed in a stream,
And drifted out to sea,
And there you ride among the waves,
For all eternity.
