Analysis of An African Desert Wedding
Depraved pre-adolescent
The "priest" summons the spirits
In hand, tools for ritual purification
Circumcision - if not already
Spiritual child you can now follow the sun
Gaze at the bride
Concealed behind the veil
A sheet of satin white masks her pretty face
Eyes invisible to the light
Plea to Allah
A desire to wed
The procession begins
All holy in this land
Smoke from the flaming pipe
Comradeship
Acceptance of destiny
The magician taps the bongos
Sounds will echo till dawn
Vows enshrined in the African desert
The sword tears the goat's throat
Faith commissioned on blood
Let the feast of hope begin
Bow to the bride
Accept
Drink goat's blood for strength, the herbal potion for
spiritual forgiveness
Bondage
Evocative
Hallucination
Paintings carved from shadows
Each movement brings new faces
Immaculate body paintings
Eat, sing and dance
Pray to all
Love near the fire
Idyllic, hope
The Image - a presence of seconds that remain stagnant
Call the Cobra
Zombies intimidate the moon
Lure the magical moon
A spell cast on the newly weds
Guidance
Dance under Allah's hand
Darkness complete
Enter the cross-roads
Smile to all
Thy vows will dictate thy path
Sun rise
Love her presence
The new Goddess of Africa
