Analysis of High Priest Apostle
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
There be any of you evil,
Leading you away from the Lord;
Leaning your heart towards the devil,
As Holy Scriptures are ignored.
Rather exhort one another,
As long as it is called today;
Deceitfulness to your brother,
Is a method for you to stray.
For we have come to share in Christ,
If indeed we hold confidence;
Are willing to be sacrificed,
In continued obedience.
Today, if we do hear His voice,
Do not try to harden your heart;
Rather go ahead and rejoice,
Thoughts of Him never to depart.
Who were those who heard and rebelled,
Was it not all those who had gone;
For forty years they were compelled,
Searched for the start of a new dawn.
For forty years how they had grieved,
Was not with any who did sin;
So they wandered had not believed,
Lacked their spiritual discipline.
And to whom that they had to swear,
That they would have entered his rest;
Disobedient and cannot share,
Believed in not doing his best.
We see that they were unable,
To enter for their unbelief;
With a lifestyle unstable,
Causing of strife that brought on grief.
