Analysis of "When Will It End?"
Suranganie Elikewela 1948 (Colombo)
It was quite late in the night
when a jeep halted.
The children sprang from their beds,
Yelling, papa, papa!
Yes,it was him
All heavily bandaged from head to toe.
I could sense the pain in him.
Through the counterfeited smile of his.
Still to have him home was such a rare delight!
But, that Joy was just momentary,
As my mind flashback
To that painful thought.
That the war is yet not over,
And so is the Patriotism in my husband's heart.
