Analysis of Play the piano one more time

Why is my father suffering so, I-need him to be in my life
I’m having a son, my first born child, for me and for my wife,
There are so many firsts my child will have I need my father to see,
What a great dad I am because he taught me well, he is what I want to be
I want him to hold my new born son I don’t want to let him go
I want him to be in my child’s life, I just need you to know

That I don’t understand, please my Lord, please can you tell me why,
Your calling my father home so soon  and all I can do is cry,
We have such a bond, deeper than father and sons do
It has carried me in life and now I ask you-
Why now, why him, I need my dad!
I can’t concentrate I’m just so sad
I can’t imagine my life, not for one single day
Without my dad to call, please Lord I pray
I’m expecting a child, my first born son, a boy
We should be celebrating his life a baby’s a joy
I need my dad to hold my son and help me love him so
To see his eyes on the day of his birth and to help me watch him grow
My son needs his Papas hand to keep him safe and strong,
To tell him stories about me whenI was his age and sing him an Italian song
The wisdom, the grace, the honor, and love that made my family close
I want that Lord for a longer time in the name of the son and the holy ghost
I always wanted to feed the ducks, my dad and me and Little Anthony
Three generations of Pino, and my dad needs to be there,
To show my son how to be compassionate and care
Life is about what you are inside
Not what people see but what people hide
I was taught to be proud and honest and brave
It has served me well I so many ways
I am humble and accomplished and I have created my life
I grew into a man and with Camille as my wife,
We have started a family and all the love that that brings
I want to hug my dad when my son is born and listen to him sing
What a joyous day for a father and son
To see your grandchild’s life begun-

I will hold onto my father from now until the end
He is my rock, he is my best friend
Please Lord give us more time today
Please Lord help me understand your ways
I will pray and I will pray And then I will pray
For my father to not suffer for even one single day
And during the baptism of my baby boy I will start to understand
Why you gently took my fathers hand
And gave me a child to nurture and love
Im my version of my father with both of our love
I promise to make you proud of me-I love you dad!
