Analysis of WING AND TONGUE
WING AND TONGUE
K R Balakrishnan
That butterfly on musical wings
Fluttering in a free sky
Once made into the hearts
Of crowds jostling
Singing a silent note ;
Sweet and swift circuit all around.
Its flow in the air
With poetic energy spread splendour ;
Stagnant minds could not adore,
They ran after it like unicorns
And at times like a battle array.
They talked in passive voice
Beating about the bushes
Forest dwellers sent arrows
Which retorted like boomerangs
They still were unaware
Of the beauty of that butterfly.
In bio-diversities
That butterfly survived
In solemn nights it became
A moth to face artificial lights, to die.
I don’t know where it fell
With damaged wings and tongue
Hope it will return
With softened temper
In more sharpened paths.
