Analysis of Our Last Amen
LAST AMEN
Each day we awake we are here to see another glorious day
We thank our Lord God above for the wondrous bounty of his grace and even all the struggles in this world we create
We give our thanks for our soldiers, police, firefighters and more
Each day they grow weary, tired and so much more
Dying for our rights, our freedom to live
They have given so much and have given free will
Bestow upon them all that they need
Giving them the guidance and blessings they seek
For each day that passes some become weak
Their families are mourning and yearning to see
See them come home, not die in the streets
We are Americans born and free, our country gives this freedom to all of thee
Freedom of speech, freedom to love, freedom to seek God Almighty above
We were formed from his love and grace
Giving to others in this famed race .
Be of the glory of God above for he is the one whose heart we love
Shame to those whose boundaries we all know
Shackles and chains we share between us they all seem to grow.
Let loose your heart to be reborn again
God be the Glory that redeems us of sin
Choose not to be a robot toy, live in Gods merciful joy
Show us the path where we need to go
Will we prevail or sink below
Pass through all errors, all wrongs we have done
Pass through the future of one true love
Our Father God you are our last Amen;
Make us pure and whole again
Thank you Father for all you've done
Through Jesus Christ your work is soon done
Give us this day our daily bread
Father God, you are our last Amen

About this poem
I wrote this during the pandemic and rioting times. So, so much going on in this country, world and it is so sad. I guess it’s a lil prayer so to speak. I was first furloughed and then my position as an activities Assistant (working with assisted living seniors) was terminated. So I had plenty of time on my hands.
