Analysis of The Louisiana Countryside

Kerry Ann 2004 (Louisiana)

Humid air fills my lungs.
Crow-poison and white clover fills the fields.
The sun reflects off the tin roof
and dries up yesterday's rain.
The cows in the meadows grazing on clovers, the calves sleeping in the sun.
The slight breeze in my hair, the sweet scent of honeysuckle.
There's no place I'd rather be than here.
The cardinals and blue jays sing their pretty songs
while the bees take the pollen and move along.
The sun goes to sleep on the horizon when the moon wants to play.
The glow slowly fades, bringing a beautiful array of colors to see.
The moon pops up and greets us with a hello.
The crickets and cicadas chirping their lullabies.
The mosquitoes are out so it's time to go in.
And tomorrow we'll wake up early and appreciate the country all over again.
