The author behind the Margaret Montrose (‘The Golden Path’ www.thegoldenpath.co.uk), The Amos Midwinter (‘Six Essays for Freedom’,‘The Sepses of Socialism’ amos@amosmidwinter.co.uk) and The Lady Aphrodite (‘Ten Short Stories’ www.theladyaphrodite.com) pseudonyms earned his HND Mech. Eng. (Higher National Diploma)in 1961, then spent ten years in R&D in industry, during which he restored raced and rallied the Vintage (1920's) cars which were his only transport. In 1971 he started his own engineering manufacturing company driving his own machine tools which he built up to manufacture his own award winning patented products, which he saved from a threat of closure by The H & S with the aid of a campaign by the local paper, which he wrote. Over the next forty years he restored sailed and raced an iconic engineless 1905 yacht, restored and lived in two Tudor houses while driving numerous pro-bono associations, clubs and campaigns, writing all they stood for, including personally saving all the 2 Teacher schools from government closure in his then home county and personally succeeding in having a Brussels Directive completely re-written. He initiated then ran a river Fairways Committee which achieved a number of firsts for all those who used The River - including the dabchicks & swans! He stood for Parliament on an Out of The EU ticket for which he wrote and published his own material, achieving 5 times the UKIP vote. He started writing seriously in 2001 - ‘An Old Morality for A New Revolution’ - while building a 1,000 book library as a voracious reader across the Classics. He’s a folk-dance musician and Bell-Ringer alongside his career being an absolutely original creator in everything, for being one who abhors The Cage so for whom The High Hills are the only place to be. As an engineer I created what would be - now a writer I create what could be.
