Crocodile Teeth and Tears

He smiles so wide
You think he could swallow you whole
Baring his teeth
He roars
Screams
His face red, voice hoarse
Your soul sat in the corner, crying
But you just stood there
You didn’t do anything
While his scaly skin was pressed against yours
Touch, bite against skin
Brass knuckles, Breaking flesh
Bruised lips from not speaking a word
When your broken soul flies from its body
You imagine a better place
A place where no one can hear his lies
Now you’re on the stand
And you can hear him behind you
He’s angry
Like he always was
You wonder if he cries to your mother
To make sure she believes him
Because why else wouldn’t she believe you
Trapped where no one could hear you scream
Crocodile teeth chomp down on you
Until you can’t breathe
While crocodile tears drown your voice out
