The Red Ridges LXII
Now you will be our mothers forever indeed
Because you are the women created by God to be
And you will be our fathers forever actually
Because you are the men like Adam and Okonkwo
When ijendu favours the mother, the family lives
When life favours the father, the family is richer
When optimistics come into prayer, hope is lifted
When glories are sustained wisely, the heart yawns
For more glories and likelies that brew hardwork
For more worries and possibles that check success
For more interests and positions that imitate the second
Fore more tracks and trails that challenge the records
We are going to be your children forever really
Because the folds of the skin have squeezed out the seeds
Into the vineyards of the community where fruits are plenty
Where food is common enough to be no beggar's portion
Then you will be our ancestors forever to recall
Because you were the fathers of our fathers in this land
Because you were the grand mothers of our grand mothers today
So, what can unity and peace be doing with a question
