Smiles for Miles

Words are often hard to find to explain things right
It's like they're deep inside, hidden from sight
Sometimes words aren't enough to express a feeling
Showing an action then becomes more appealing
My face has become and ever flowing river of smiles
Filled with copious amounts of laughs that travel for miles
Though I have lost the oars to my floating vessel
My hands fill the holes where they used to nestle
This predicament I look at it as a blessing
Let's keep this journey up to guessing
Sitting up straight I watch the world as it passes by
Looking far and near my eyes eventually find the sky
My breath escapes my lungs and my mouth is agape
A cool breeze brushes against my nape
This impeccable day has quickly turned into night
The stars have made my heart take flight
It's funny how the stars can make you feel so miniscule
Thoughts and questions get sloshed around in my head like waves in a pool
Forever for the answers we'll seek
Who knows if we'll ever gain the knowledge, the future looks bleak
The river comes to its termination into that of a vast lake
As I drift to the shoreline, nothing is to wake
The land is at my feet to explore
Oh the freedom, it's all I've ever wanted and more
