Shivering Through The Cracks

Just how long have I been in this storm
So, overwhelmed by my tears so warm
With these waves of sadness crashing over my head
As I twist and turn in a tear soaked bed
And if I could just see you
I might know if it is true
Will everything be alright
When you're not within my sight
And reach, for my arms lay barren
Like my heart isnt worth sharing
Merely surviving has become my purpose
And I wear a mask on the surface
On those nights when you look at me
I wonder what those silver-blue eyes see
Then I turn my head from your words
Afraid you may strike at my chords
And yet, you say things I can't bare to hear
Over and over you say that you care
Those words I know I didn't earn
With this heart that can no longer burn
I get confused when you can't seem to see
Thats the kind of man I can never be
You say it aint like me to act this way
It never seems to matter the words I say
You look at my heart like its fine
Leaving me to say these words one more time
That, love, for me
Was never meant to be
And even though I know better
I allow my mind to retter
In all these thoughts of sadness
I live my life of lonely madness
