My Neighbor's Azaleas

Azaleas blooming on my neighbor's vine,
The cost was his and his the labor too,
Are owned by him but they are also mine;
Mine to enjoy, their loveliness to view.

They bloom for me and are to me so far
Because a good man grew them I am rich,
Much more than he who gives gentle care;
I love them so, their view I often snitch.

I know from this that others plant for me
So why be selfish when in what they own
Is shared with all that joy may also be
Upon neighbor's vine, for you it's grown.

So plant azaleas on your other side
That other neighbor's joy may there abide.
