I was there

I can hear yesterday calling me
been getting louder each year since i was just a boy,
been hearing yesterday calling me
like an old song on the radio,
gets you in the gut because you remember someone and
you kinda wished you didn't have to let go......
where would we be if we weren't where we were when we said our first 'hello?"
I don't care never care
i'm just so glad we were there
and I don't mind these old movies
rollin round inside my head
i've made my peace with all
that I have done and been
i'm just glad that I was there.
